Young Radiologists Autumn School 2021 - Review
For anyone, who is still not sure wether to apply for this years Summer School or not, here is a short review of a participant of last years autumn school:
For a long weekend in October 2021 I had the opportunity to participate in the Autumn School at the Charité in Berlin. I got an insight into the wide spectrum of radiological topics and the chance to discuss research ideas with peers who, like me, take a keen interest in radiology. Especially with regard to my upcoming state examination, the Autumn School was a great opportunity to refresh my knowledge across various topics.
I particularly enjoyed the opportunity to gain some practical insights and test my own intervention skills on simulation models under the guidance of experienced interventional radiologists.
In addition to the inspiring talks on the topics of thoracic imaging, trauma radiology, interventional radiology and neuroradiology, we also had the chance to partake in workshops. They were a great opportunity to discuss topics in a relaxed atmosphere.
We also managed to try out the famous Radiology-Escape-Room, which was a lot of fun and great to get to know other participants.
There was also an exciting evening program, that allowed us to meet the other participants from across Germany in a laidback atmosphere and talk about radiology with like-minded people.
Another highlight on the final day was the Q&A session with Prof. Hamm, where we could ask him questions and he gave insightful career advice.
All in all, the Autumn school was a brilliant event at a crucial point in my professional development and has helped me immensely. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is interested in radiology!
